WHO WE ARE

Akwete National Association, USA is primarily a cultural and social organization with the primary purpose to reaching out and re-uniting with all Akwetians residing in the United States of America. Akwete National Association, USA is primarily a cultural and social organization for the primary purpose to facilitate unity among all our brothers and sisters leaving in the United States of America. Akwete National Association, USA is not a political organization nor subscribes to any political or religious affiliation.

PURPOSE

Bringing and creating bridges of hope for the aged and most vulnerable in developing countries especially the village of Akwete through provision of basic needs and free preventive medical screening.

MISSION

Our mission is to identify, recognize and foster the unity of Akwete indigenes living in the United States of America and beyond and to remind us of our common responsibility, purpose and destiny as one people. We exist to promote Akwete cultural heritage and to enlighten our host country about the richness and uniqueness of our people, culture, art and craft.

OBJECTIVE

To foster the unity of Akwete people living in the USA, to promote information sharing and natural produce of Akwete village to the people of United States, and to morally and financially support members in times of crisis and difficult challenges.

ACTIVITIES

Support of the food bank project for the aged by providing money for food items and stipend on a monthly basis that is distributed to aged citizens of the village of Akwete. Provided small medical equipment including blood pressure monitor, glucose monitor, thermometers, first aid kit and over the count medications as part of the free medical screening for the people of Akwete community. The free medical screening occurs twice a month at the Maternity / Health Center.
